It all began with a direct request from the VIII Bandera \u201cCol\u00f3n\u201d of the Spanish Legion. A daily-use backpack was required, capable of withstanding the harsh conditions faced by legionnaires, both in vehicles and on foot.
The objective was clear: to carry ammunition, water, food, a communications radio and a basic warm garment \u2014 all in a compact, durable and comfortable format. <\/p>\n
Starting from a 32-litre base concept, the development of the Col\u00f3n backpack was carried out in three iterative phases. In each phase, the product was field-tested by the users themselves, who provided valuable feedback that was translated into concrete improvements in the workshop.
In less than a month, and after three rounds of refinement, the final version was born. <\/p>\n
The name Col\u00f3n is no coincidence. It pays tribute both to the unit that inspired it and to the pioneering and exploratory spirit of Christopher Columbus, a symbol of discovery and determination.
This backpack is not just a product \u2014 it is a statement of principles. <\/p>\n
With an initial order of 350 units for the VIII Bandera \u201cCol\u00f3n\u201d of the BRILEG, the Col\u00f3n backpack has accompanied our soldiers on international missions such as EUMAM UA, supporting the training of Ukrainian special forces personnel in Spain; Allied Reaction Force manoeuvres alongside other armies in Romania; cooperative security exercises in Senegal; and both national and international training exercises with units from other countries in Spain.
Its performance has been validated under real operational conditions and has attracted interest from personnel of other countries who have used it \u2014 particularly Ukrainian personnel, who have carried it during their training courses. <\/p>\n
